About my book

19 comments
Ok, lets now talk about my "future" book little bit, i hope by writing it in here, i would gain some good feedback, at least boosting my spirit to finish it. Yesterday ive just finishing the first chapter (i spent three days for writing 18 pages in chapter one), its about cookies manipulation for gaining administrator priveledge, its also well known bug from some application, so i think it wouldnt be so hard to understand the basic.

Now im working on second chapter, im planning to write about bluetooth hacking and gaining some credential from a mobile phone (reading sms n phonebook also), after researching it in last year, i never touch it again (after i lost my notebook, my mobile phone, and all my data) n now im planning to research it n put it on my second chapter. The idea its just showing all the configuration, application, writing some "bluetooth scripts" with perl, till the assessment steps. I hope i could finish it in a week, after finding some other device to support it.

Next chapter would be about wifi hack, Reverse engineering, BufferOverFlowing, another Web hacking thing, cryptography, creating a liveCD/remastering, ARP attack n defense, and else. If u have some topic that u think i need to wrote/put about it on my book (a must to write), just leave a comment and let see if i could make one chapter about it ?

Wish me luck Pals,- ,

spoiler: in Indonesian language, level for newbie-advanced, Stealing the network series alike, has 8 chapters

Topic on echo forum

11 comments
Now, i just wanna post one "great topic" from echo discussion board, the topic started by az001 (session are using indonesian language )
teman- teman,
Gini , gw cuma mo tau gimana caranya teman2 menyelesaikan soal berikut
Ada dua variabel a & b
a = 10;
b = 20;

Nah .. gimana caranya agar dua variabel itu ditukar nilainya tanpa menambah variabel tambahan
Bisa gak ya ? ....
kharm respond it with some simple mathematic operation.
yg lbih sederhana bisa pake operasi tambah kurang kaya gini:
a:= 10;b:=12
a:= a + b; {22}
b:= a - b; {10}
a:= a - b; {12}

Interesting, isnt it ?

Elementeo’s 13-year-old CEO, highlight of TiECON

By Mark Coker 05.19.07

Elementeo Executive Team

TiECON 2007, the big technology conference in Santa Clara, Calif., kicked off yesterday.

The buzz on the expo floor was about Silicon Valley gaming startup Elementeo and its precocious 13-year old founder and chief executive, Anshul Samar. “We inject fun into education,” the fast talking entrepreneur confidently proclaimed, touting his new fantasy role playing board game which he believes will change the way kids learn chemistry.

The conference featured keynote presentations from the likes of Marc Benioff (Salesforce.com), Vinod Khosla (Khosla Ventures) and Tim O’Reilly (Web 2.0 thinker), but the young Samar better represented the theme of this year’s conference: “The New Face of Entrepreneurship.”

VentureBeat interviewed the diminutive executive at Elementeo’s TiECON booth. Like other charismatic Silicon Valley CEOs – think Steve Jobs, Larry Ellison or Marc Benioff – Mr. Samar exudes confidence, vision and a passion to change the world. He’s more articulate than many CEOs four times his age.

Samar argues that textbooks are boring and kids would rather spend their time battling enemies, blowing things up with bombs, and yes, even giving their opponents lead poisoning. So he created a fantasy role playing game that combines the rapturous teenage joys of competition and carnage with the exciting properties of the periodic table of chemical elements.

Here’s how the game works: You command an army of chemical elements, compounds and catalysts — represented within a 66-card deck (the fire and brimstone card at left is for “Sulfur,” for example). Your opponent has his own deck with the same number of cards. Your goal is to battle your competitor and reduce his IQ down to zero. Pit your oxygen card against your opponent’s iron card, for example, and you learn that you create rust. Score one for oxygen. Kind of like rock-paper-scissors, but with chemicals, dice and 66 impressively illustrated cards featuring monster-themed caricatures of chemicals.

Samar would kick my butt in this game. At least I’d probably learn more about chemistry in an hour of game play than I learned in my high school chemistry class a couple decades ago.

Like all good Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, Samar was taking orders at the show even though he won’t start shipping product until he either receives his first 2,500 orders, or he closes a decent round of funding, whichever comes first. As of Saturday, he had already booked 450 pre-orders.

Elementeo’s initial seed funding, which was used to design prototypes, came in the form of a $500 grant from the California Association for the Gifted.

Now Samar says that if he can get $100,000 in funding, it will help him achieve his goal of $1 million in first year revenues by the time he graduates eighth grade in June 2008 (Unlike most Silicon Valley companies, Mr. Samar’s fiscal year ends at the start of summer vacation).

So what happens once the company secures funding? Will Mr. Samar and his team follow in the footsteps of Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg who famously dropped out of school (in this case, Lawson Middle School in Cupertino) to pursue their ventures full time?

We’ll still be in school, but we’ll be richer,” joked Mr. Samar’s 13-year-old co-founder Daniel Tan, his big smile exposing a mouthful of braces.

Samar’s sister, who at age 11 serves as the company’s vice president of sales, jokes that after they’re rich, they can hire someone to do their homework. “Just kidding,” she emphasizes.

The company is considering an online version of the game, as well has extending the brand to include games for biology, math, and other school subjects they’ve identified that have “boring textbooks.”

TiECON 2007, attended by 3,800 people, concludes today (Saturday) at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Meg Whitman of eBay keynotes at 9:00am.

Critical Flaws in JDK

0 comments
FrSIRT.com (French Security Incident Response Team), a security research organization based in France, found two vulnerabilities in Sun Java Development Kit (JDK) ver 1.x, which could be exploited by remote attackers to take complete control of an affected system or cause a denial of service. JDK (Java Development Kit) is a software development tool made by Sun Microsystems specifically for Java users. The vulnerabilities were rated "critical" by FrSIRT.

The first issue is caused by an integer overflow error in the image parser when processing ICC profiles embedded within JPEG images, which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary code. The second vulnerability is caused by an error in the BMP image parser when processing malformed files on Unix/linux systems, which could be exploited by attackers to cause a denial of service. Read full advisories here.

As a solution, just upgrading to JDK versions 1.5.0_11-b03 or 1.6.0_01-b06.

Dedek dan Tugas Akhirnya

3 comments

NT2007?

:p, hehehehe. (baru nyadar kalo gw pake bahasa Indonesia yah ? )

One Chapter of my book

37 comments
Please give a comment about the chapter here !, so i could make a better book, thx before :)

Yes, this is one chapter of my book that i "eager" to finish, the title was "password series" and its about getting all password information, written in indonesian languages, level for newbies-advanced and has 27 pages , i wrote it in early 2005 and all the content are below from that year (tested and workS), i hate to admit that im still unable to finish the book (one of a big reason is just ive lost my taratula (before this ne0 tarantula), my external harddrive (backup), and all my books material (some other chapter) that i havent backup it except this one that ive already emailed to the editor).

Anyway, i think i cant hold this chapter anymore so i decide to share it, you can download it at , maybe this only for three month (90 Days), i hope i could find some space to upload all my material (paper, article, seminar materials, and else), is there a friends wanna spare some space for uploading my materials ? :P

My book are stiil in progress (gyahhh) . wish me luck pals :) .. Remember Im not Promising here! :P

updated: ive created the cover just for fun :P, n yeah just wanna tell if this book kinda out of date because ive wrote it in 2005, n its a must to update the content, sorry (for ex: some problem meets with firefox version when i wrote n now :))

I just upload it to another place, if u cant download it from gudangupload, you can download it at here

katr0 (spare a place for newbie)

Last time i touch freebsd was in 2004; when i installed it at the office (at the lab) but i dont do anything or playin with it, as i remember after the "shell" showd up (after finishing the installation process) ... wait for a couple minute then we decide to re-install the pc with Redhat 8.0 (gyahh).

Now, (yes its today), I spare my time to install it again (ver 5.4) after copying the ISO from some friends last week. My Arachnids (AMD athlon 1300 MHz, 384 MB of SDRAM, 20 GB of Hardisk) are ready to have another OS besides the "Dapper Drake".

But i have to use special boot options to get successfull booting process at my Arachnids
press 6, when boot options prompt
type "set hw.ata.ata_dma=0" ; To disable DMA for hard drives,
type "boot" ; to boot

after finishing the installation process, just add "set hw.ata.ata_dma=0" to /boot/loader.conf

yes, im late .. just said that i am "katro",
lets see whats next? (looking further about my arpwall project at freeBSD also, While, reading the documentation about beginner in freeBSD, gyahhh .. wakkakakaka)

Saya Kembali ..

6 comments

updated: after completing all update to feisty,
  • suddently my tarantula become silent (sound device doesnt work at all), to fix it simply adding
    options snd-hda-intel model=3stack

    Journey to Feisty

    0 comments
    Today, i decide to upgrade my Edgy Eft to Feisty Fawn (Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) was released on April 19th, 2007) by adding new repository to /etc/apt/sources.list file
    deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ feisty main universe multiverse restricted
    then just "update" and "upgrade" for downloading 378 MB of upgrade packet

    everything went ok, until i reboot my tarantula, all my "fonts" seems to be ugly and all over the menus and system stuff fonts become a tiny squares

    To fix it,I semi-blindly navigating to language-selector (via gnome-languange-selector command at the terminal) and fonts. After doing a "brute forcing" and restarted for many times, everything went ok now, n i still have many packet to update.
